FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I use gas central heating ?
A: Gas is still the cleanest and cheapest way of providing you with warmth & hot water today.
Q: Are you CORGI registered
A: Corgi is no longer the statutory body overseeing the gas industry. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) appointed Capita Plc in their place on 1st April 2009. Capita Plc operates the scheme under The Gas Safe Register. The company and all of our operatives are registered with Gas Safe, and undergo regular training courses to update on current equipment and regulations. All of our engineers are ACS Certificated to undertake the work they carry out. Corgi now reverts to a trade organisation of which we are a member
Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes, we have third party public liability cover up to £5,000,000
Q: When I call your company for a quotation what happens next?
A: From the moment you call us, you will know you have made the right choice.
Our sales staff will be helpful when taking your enquiry, and you will then receive a call directly from our consultant who will arrange to visit you at a time and date convenient for you.
Q: Will I be pressured into signing “on the night”?
A: No ! There is no “hard-sell” on the night. You will be able to make up your own mind in your own time. Our consultant will only give you honest, unbiased advice, and help you design your system. A full written quotation will be sent to you within a few days.

Q: I do not understand the terminology of different boilers, what is the difference between conventional, combination and condensing boilers?
A: There are many different types of boiler available these days, they are all explained on our Boiler Types page
Q: What happens if I decide to place an order?
A: Once you have placed an order, you will then receive a further visit from one of our technical surveyors, who will go over some of the finer details with regards to your installation. He will discuss with you your exact requirements with regards to where you would like equipment sited, such as the boiler & radiators. This visit is to ensure that the installation exactly matches your requirements and at the same time make sure that it complies with all the current regulations. The surveyor will also discuss with you a convenient date for the work to start.
Q: Is there much disruption during my installation?
A: Less than you think! Our installers will keep disruption to an absolute minimum. We do understand that this is your home and you still have to live there whilst they are working. Our fitters work cleanly and conscientiously, respecting your property and possessions, and ensuring your house is left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
Q: How long will the job take?
A: It depends on what you are having installed. It may be that you already have central heating and are just having a new boiler and updating the controls. To replace a boiler usually takes between 1 & 2 days, and to install a full central heating system depends very much on the size of the house. An average three bedroom house can take anything between 3-5 days.
Q: I had some building work done once and the builder kept pulling off the job, and not returning for 2-3 days, is this likely to happen?
A: No ! Our installers will be with you until they have fully completed the work.
